FINANCE MINISTRY
Our Mission
Our priority is to support the vision of Grace Congregational Church. The Finance Department serves in an advisory role to the Senior Pastor and leadership. Proverbs 15:22 reads, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”
The Finance Department stewards the financial resources of the church in accordance with scripture. Matthew 25:14-30 teaches us the importance of using resources wisely.
The Finance Department's approach must be based upon Scripture. According to 2 Corinthians 8:18-21, it is imperative to do what is right before God and man. This is where systems and policy guidelines come into effect by: (1) handling money in such a way as to protect against false accusations and (2) giving careful consideration as to what the church body thinks of how its fiscal affairs are conducted.
The Finance Department also helps to achieve and maintain the financial well-being of the church – “a state in which one practices wise planning, spending and saving with regards to the financial resources that God puts at one’s disposal.”
