MEET FIRST LADY TURNER

A Devoted Woman of God

First Lady Leanda Turner has devoted her life to the gospel of Jesus the Christ and also the ministry of Grace Congregational Church (GCC). She continues to support the Senior Pastor by providing encouragement, helping to carry out the Word of God and its instructions and providing guidance. As the First Lady of GCC and spiritual covering of Women’s Affairs, she facilitates enrichment opportunities for the women of the congregation and leads the women of the congregation by example.

 

First Lady Turner accompanied Bishop Turner to Lagos and Ibadan, Nigeria in which she addressed hundreds of people about the goodness of God. She served as a GCC representative in several oversees outreach opportunities such as Haiti. First Lady Turner was one of three GCC representatives to visit an orphanage in Haiti, for which the church provided several/various donations.

 

First Lady Turner served in a plethora of roles. As the former Youth Director, she aspired not only to teach the youth and foster youth development but bridge gaps between the age groups within the church overall. First Lady Turner was committed to activities that maximized helping everyone to recognize the need for others in all our endeavors. She sponsored numerous events, enrichment activities, and opportunities grounded in biblical teaching.

 

First Lady Turner has provided faithful service to the ministry of GCC, including Deaconess, Church School Teacher, Childcare/Nursery Director, and Grace Women United’s President, to name a few. Her attention to detail and focus on the mission of GCC, has led to her success in all endeavors to reach and enrich the lives of the women, youth, and children she has worked with.

Being married for over 40 years, First Lady Turner develops and oversees a vision for an integrated spectrum of marriage ministry for the church providing staffing, equipping, structure and support. This structure will help couples, in any stage of their relationship, to understand the importance of the Gospel, by providing a biblical foundation for relationships and creating a Christian community for them to connect to, urging them towards growth in their relationship. Ultimately, strengthening marriages and developing oneness in relationships.

 

First Lady Turner earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from New Hampshire College (now known as Southern New Hampshire University) in Manchester, New Hampshire. First Lady Turner is married to the inspirational, caring, and committed Bishop Walter Turner, Jr. She serves alongside Bishop Turner tirelessly, as the epitome of a help meet and virtuous woman. First Lady Turner has three sons, one stepson, one daughter, three grandsons, one step-grandson, and four granddaughters.
